Right. In any event, it certainly sounds like at the least, the coppers helped to push him over the edge while at worst, they did it. The circumstances are still suspicious, and we basically still have to take the copper who "found" him's word for it.
I get that the intent is clearly criminal in this case; however the CFAA ain't needed for this. Burglars who get keys from somebody are entirely prosecutable without stupid laws.
In the image politics game, it's come down between the crook and the racist. Trump can easily deflect the charges of racism; but Hillary will have a harder time not being a crook.
These are the kind of folks we are trying to reach. Just like with Walter Jones, this is to be celebrated. Everyone in the halls of power who have worn the ring or believed the lies of the ring wraiths need the message of non-interventionism and peace.
