This seems to be some of the "missing link" the Telomerase people may be missing. The mitochondria being a black box, along with the recently discovered new type of DNA are both promising avenues of research to gain the requisite understanding to cure chronic illness. It also seems that Senescent cells are contagious, which is yet more evidence piling up behind the telomerase theories.
