Just like last time with the Red Baiting, no special effort needs to be taken to invade and forcibly pacify those holding these poisonous ideologies. Letting them be to stew in said ideology's fruits will liquidate their experiment in authoritarianism quicker than any amount of bombs can.

That said there are forces for good in Islam; Muslims4Liberty and the Quranists in particular are pretty good in my book. I haven't encountered too many commies for liberty, in contrast.

All this being said, "Reliance of the Traveller" and other mainstream shariah doctrine are thoroughly illiberal. The doctrine that the later works (when Mohammed was a warlord) are "better" than his peaceful earlier works (which are more plausibly divinely inspired) has been fertilizer for oriental despotism.
