For plundering his company. Good. More CEOs clearly deserve this for defrauding their shareholders.

Scott Horton Interviews Scott Adams πŸ”—

Adams has some good insights on Trump. Kind of funny that Adams uses some of Trump's own methods in questioning Horton's positions :)

UPDATE: Adams' considered response. I'd say both Adams and Horton have it right on this one -- Trump is the master persuader, and his positions can all be taken with a grain of salt. That said, Horton understands that this means America will buy a Pig in a Poke, to our great hazard.

By the way, the other master persuader in Moscow recognizes his own kind. I have to say, this theory puts a lot of things into perspective; think about Obama, Trump and Putin when reading this:
When the top persuaders do their thing, about a third of the public can be expected to literally hallucinate.

It raised mortgage rates in the equal and opposite direction. Of course, no sane saver will park their money where it will be guaranteed to lose it's value. They'll instead demand a return, as is sensible.

So, the FED raised rates. πŸ”—

...but they also removed all reverse repo limits. Which means that banks can effectively evade all reserve requirements via overnight covering loans (reverse repo). Clearly they want to have the member banks keep things pumped up while they keep up the appearance of taking the air out of the market. This won't end well.

Why not capitalism? πŸ”—

New book comes out making the same point I've been making for years: even angels centrally planning angels is worse than the private property alternative. As long as the angel in charge can't read the others' minds, it will have incorrect resource allocation. Whether the others' needs are met is effectively random, and this will corrupt said angels, as random reinforcement tends to do. In contrast, capitalism and private property rewards the individual prioritizing their highest goals, which as angels reinforces their better parts.

Paul manages to get in the best lines of the night. In general, the top 3 all opposed the Neocon line, and got away with it, which is probably why the neoconmen are looking to bandwagon behind Trump now. They know he's a lying sack, and that they can probably sway him.

In other words, if a farmer from 23 centuries ago had sold a quart of barley, he would have received 0.171 grams of silver.

Fast forward to today and that 0.171 grams of silver would buy almost the exact same amount of grain as it did 23 centuries ago.
When the paper speculators are out of the market, it still fulfills it's primary purpose: being a good store of value.
