Who rules Syria is not worth one more death or refugee. Sadly, Syria may be beyond repair. The crazies we created are now running large parts of Iraq and Syria. Russia mutters about going into Iraq.Damn Straight!
Vlad Putin keeps his game tightly under control. Iβm not so sure about the Obama White House and its confused advisors. Better make a deal with Assad, a natural US ally, and end this crazy war before Sen. John McCain and his Republican crusader pals really do start World War III.
Trying to turn garbage into gold costs a lot more than expected. We need to ask ourselves: What is the goal here?I remember talking with someone zealously converted to the pro-recycling position. I asked if she had ever *visited* a paper recycling plant and seen what they do with the ink, glue and bleach slurry used to turn the paper white again (e.g. dump it). Recycling anything nonmetal is still more wasteful and environmentally destructive than chucking it in a landfill where natural processes decompose it faster than you think.
And now it turns out, that for some large proportion of the uninsured, the only way to get them to buy a product they view as defective β because otherwise they would already have purchased it β is to ratchet up the fines until they see reason. The beatings will continue until morale improves.
