They are facing what looks to be a 50bn hit, potentially wiping out all profitability for the next five years, and that's assuming they continue to be as profitable as they were before the emissions "scandal".
This sounds very, very bad. Genocide and ethnic cleansing along with destroying every piece of civilian infrastructure in the country. What a nightmare.
This, of course, should come as a surprise to nobody. Apparently their armaments industry got a shot in the arm. I doubt the article's allegation that they'll make more money than they spent there though.
