Every single person who has immigrated to the United States has wittingly or unwittingly done so explicitly to escape nations in the iron grip of sadistic and parasitic institutions. Texas' own revolution was explicitly about this conflict. Mexico has always been "that way" and our ancestors were willing to die to not suffer in the same way. This difference in vision for society is the only thing capable of truly uniting the Texan and American people in general despite mass migration.
NYT kind of buries the lede here by only covering modern Rightoids, while alluding to the reality in the piece's title that this is actually systemic across all our institutions, which are overwhelmingly leftist. As long as the majority of people get a big fat middle finger from the rest of society, they will band together and end up ruling the place by virtue of being willing to get their hands dirty due to not caring what people think about them (they hated me before when I was good, so why not be bad?)
